Regional Support Manager – Nurse Qualified Location: Multi-Site – 11 Care Homes Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 + Car Allowance Salary: Higher salaries will be considered for candidates with exceptional experience About the Role New Way Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading care provider in the appointment of an experienced Regional Support Manager to provide clinical, operational and leadership support across 11 care homes. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse-qualified senior care professional looking to take the next step in their career, particularly someone who has experience supporting sister homes, providing management cover or taking on responsibilities beyond their own service. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will work closely with General Managers, the Quality Team and wider support functions to ensure consistently high standards of care, governance, compliance and operational performance across the region. All services are currently stable, but the role will be highly proactive, with the successful candidate visiting homes according to their individual needs and priorities. The Role As Regional Support Manager, you will act as a key link between the care homes and senior operations, providing support, guidance and constructive challenge to General Managers. You will: Provide operational, clinical and leadership support across 11 care homes. Build strong working relationships with General Managers and senior teams. Conduct regular visits to assess performance, standards, risks and areas for improvement. Identify emerging operational, clinical, safeguarding, staffing and compliance risks. Work alongside General Managers to develop and implement clear, measurable action plans. Monitor progress against improvement plans and provide appropriate challenge where required. Support homes with quality improvement, governance and regulatory compliance. Work closely with the Quality Team to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement. Provide clinical oversight and challenge around areas including safeguarding, medication, falls, pressure care, nutrition and infection prevention. Review audits, incidents, complaints, safeguarding information and performance data to identify trends and early warning signs. Share best practice across the homes and encourage a consistent approach to quality and operational excellence. Coach and mentor General Managers, supporting their development and leadership capability. Support succession planning and the development of future leaders. Step into a General Manager capacity when required to provide leadership continuity during periods of absence. Work collaboratively with HR, Recruitment, Finance, Quality, Clinical and other support functions. Provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Operations. About You We are looking for a clinically credible and operationally strong leader who is confident working across multiple care homes. You will ideally be a nurse-qualified professional with significant experience within a care home, healthcare or social care environment. This role could be particularly well suited to an experienced Home Manager / General Manager who is ready to progress into a regional position and has previously supported sister services within their organisation. We would also welcome applications from candidates already working at Regional, Clinical or senior operational level. You will need: A relevant clinical qualification and professional background within health or social care. Significant care home, healthcare or social care experience. Experience in a senior operational, clinical or regional leadership role. Strong knowledge of governance, safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance. Demonstrable experience of quality improvement and implementing action plans. Experience coaching, supporting and challenging senior managers. A strong understanding of person-centred care and clinical standards. Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills. The ability to identify risks, assess priorities and make sound decisions. The confidence to work autonomously across multiple locations. A flexible approach and willingness to provide management cover when required. Proactive – able to identify concerns early and act before they become significant risks. A strong leader and coach – able to develop General Managers while providing appropriate challenge. Analytical and improvement-focused – able to interpret information, identify trends and deliver sustainable improvements. Resilient and adaptable – comfortable managing competing priorities across 11 services.
