Registered Manager – Children’s Learning Disabilities Residential Home Location: UB3 Salary: £70,000- £80,000 New Way Recruitment is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a specialist Children’s Learning Disabilities residential service in the UB3 area. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, supporting vulnerable young people, and developing a highly motivated team within a nurturing and therapeutic environment. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the leadership, regulatory compliance, and operational management of a residential home supporting children and young people with learning disabilities. This role requires a confident and empathetic leader who can maintain the highest standards of care while fostering a safe, stable, and supportive home for every young person. Key Responsibilities Provide strong, compassionate leadership to ensure children receive safe, person-centred care that promotes wellbeing, independence, and positive outcomes Maintain full compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation, ensuring the home consistently meets and exceeds regulatory standards Lead, mentor, and develop a committed care team through effective supervision, training, and performance management Create a nurturing environment that prioritises safeguarding, emotional wellbeing, and stability for children with complex needs Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and behavioural support strategies tailored to each child Manage staffing levels, rotas, and resources to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery Build positive relationships with families, local authorities, external professionals, and multi-disciplinary teams Monitor quality assurance processes and drive continuous improvement across the service Oversee the home’s financial and operational performance in line with organisational expectations Ensure all safeguarding procedures are robustly implemented and embedded into daily practice Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a children’s residential home Minimum 1 year experience in a managerial or leadership role within children’s residential care (e.g. Deputy Manager, Team Leader or similar) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards) Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and children’s home legislation Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop residential care teams Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities or complex needs Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills A genuine passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people Benefits Competitive salary of £70,000- £80,000 Clear career progression and leadership development opportunities Comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development Supportive senior leadership and operational support network Structured supervision and leadership mentoring Generous annual leave entitlement Company pension scheme Access to employee wellbeing and support services Opportunity to lead a service where quality care and positive outcomes for children are the central priority Our Promise: At New Way Recruitment, we believe in Heart-Led Hiring in Care.
